2022 Gift Guide: Under $50
Unless you’re overloaded with cash, chances are you’re working with a budget this holiday season. We’ve pulled together some of our favorite gifts that cost $50 or less, because great design doesn’t have to leave you bankrupt!
2020 Sucks Candle by Anecdote Candles \ $26
I think it’s safe to say that just about everyone (and we mean everyone) is ready to bid adieu to 2020. This cheeky candle from Anecdote Candles is a great gift for someone who has had an especially lousy year. They can wave goodbye with one hand while lighting this amber and mandarin scented candle with the other! (If you’re more of the glass-half-full type, there’s also a 2021 candle.)
Left-Handed Limited-Edition Ice Cream Scoop by Belle – V \ $44
This is definitely one of the coolest products we’ve seen this season, no pun intended! If someone on your gift list is a lefty, they’ve been forced to live in a world created for right-handed people – but no more. The design of this ice cream scoop is ergonomically enhanced for a comfortable grip, and made just for them. If they happen to be a righty have no fear, there’s a right-handed ice cream scoop for them, too.
Flor Red Desk Clock by cloudnola \ $45
Influenced by the fashion industry, this colorful desk clock makes a great gift for the Type A stickler, or just about anyone who needs to know the time. (So everyone!) The hour is broken down into quartered color blocks, especially thoughtful for those who like to time track tasks on their to-do list.
The Moon and Earth Puzzle Set by Four Point Puzzles \ $45 (through November 24th, reg. $50)
A favorite quarantine pastime, puzzles are seeing a resurgence and we couldn’t love it more. Everyone should be practicing staying at home, and this set of planetary puzzles will keep them busy well into the new year with extra tricky designs and curved edges. Each one contains 1,000 pieces.
Space Gray BENTOSTACK by Function 101 \ $39.95
For the person in your life who aspires to total neatness, this clever stacked Apple accessory organizer is perfect. Four levels hold an Apple Pencil or iPad stand, charging cables and AirPods, two Apple Watch watchbands and power bricks and wall chargers. It comes with two sizes of silicone bands, so everything can stay together whether it’s being used in parts or as a whole.
Geometric Wooden Succulent Planter by Oakywood \ $39
For the plant lover on your list, this minimal wooden planter is handcrafted and comes with a steel insert as a layer of protection. Add a small succulent and you have a super thoughtful gift that will have them thinking of you as they watch it grow.
Gray Scale Coaster Set by Pretti.Cool \ $50
I’ve found that drink coasters are always a good gift, because the recipient either realizes they don’t own any or they’ll happily change them out for variety’s sake. The grooved design of this concrete and cork set keeps glasses from sticking when picked up. And because recycled materials are used, they are 40% lighter than traditional concrete.
Rare Crystal Decanter and Radiant Crystal Glasses by Puik Design \ $49 and $39, respectively
These faceted pieces of drinkware are real eye-catchers! Cut from mouth-blown crystal, each piece can stand upright or be leaned on its side without spilling. The contemporary design will be welcomed by those with a penchant for cocktail mixing or lemonade sipping alike.
Salt Pond Tray by Space Ctrl Design \ $36
This beautiful cork organizer tray found its inspiration in the colorful ponds used to extract sea salt from sea water. Such a chameleon – it works just as wonderfully in the bathroom organizing skincare as it does in the office holding desktop supplies.
Iridescent Waves Puzzle by Waves Puzzle Co. \ $40
Another of our favorite next level minimalist puzzles, each color-shifting acrylic piece will leave them second-guessing. But with multiple solutions among its 49 pieces, don’t feel too badly. Just the right size to tackle whether there’s one person or a group!
If you’re still undecided or haven’t found the right gift, there’s one universal gift that is well-liked by friends, family, colleagues, and kids alike: the Design Milk gift card. Let your recipient pick out something for themselves from our shop. We’re sure that they’ll find something they didn’t even know they wanted.
