Designer Wallpaper: June 2020 – Design Milk

Wallpapers are like large artwork murals to your house and that’s very true for Habita Wallpaper Studio, an Austin-based firm created by Emily Wong who designs hand-painted, sustainably-sourced wallpapers. She turns her sketches into gouache work, a conventional methodology utilized in textile design. These fashionable patterns are then printed on clay-based paper that has been sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Her newest, the Novo Assortment, is impressed by mid-century designers, like panorama designer Roberto Burle Marx and furnishings designer Clara Porset, who combined clear strains and easy varieties with colour, rhythm, and traditions of place. Paired with a quote by Jules Feiffer, an American cartoonist, this Rincon sample is a relaxing piece of artwork for all of your tech units.
