Kanel: A Swedish Bakery in Greece with a Scandinavian Feel
Structure and design studio Fluo just lately accomplished a brand new family-owned Swedish konditori (bakery) in Thessaloniki, Greece. After years residing in Sweden, the house owners returned with a conventional Swedish recipe for kanelbullar (cinnamon rolls) in hand, inspiring the opening of Kanel.
The designers went for a Scandinavian aesthetic, whereas conserving in thoughts its Greece location, by dividing the house into heat and chilly zones. The nice and cozy space was painted in a muddy terracotta that wraps the bar and prep house for a cohesive, nest-like really feel. The hall and seating space make up the chilly part whereas performing as a pathway to the nest.
