The Lines Rug Collection Is a True Masterpiece
For these of you who love a minimal monochromatic palette, permit me to introduce you to the Traces rug assortment. Designed by Philippe Malouin for cc-tapis, the gathering started by experimenting and sketching with wax crayons. That led to Malouin specializing in the irregularities that crayons naturally create for which he tried to duplicate in a rug.
After a number of rounds of trial and error, cc-tapis’ artwork director Daniele Lora started collaborating on a Tibetan craftsmanship mixed with a dip-dying method for the Himalayan wool rugs. The ensuing look got here near that of the crayons, with irregular traces and uneven tones. Apparently, this happens as a result of weavers taking up from each other, every utilizing a distinct ball of yarn and guaranteeing that no two rugs can be alike.
